Now with the MoPac Improvement Project and President Obama coming in for a visit this Friday, you may be wondering what are the best ways to get around this year’s festival. Don’t fret, we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 ways to get around SXSW!

Zipcar members can choose from a variety of vehicles in the company’s fleet. Just find and reserve your ride from Zipcar’s website or mobile apps, pick it up at its designated parking spot and return it to the spot at the end of your trip. Rentals are per hour or per day.

Cabs are in high demand during SXSW, but can sometimes be found circling the downtown area. Taxi cabs can charge a night-time surcharge of $1 per person between the hours of 9pm to 4am authorized by the City of Austin.
Pedicabs are a common sight in the downtown Austin area. Flag one down for shorter trips between SXSW venues. Drivers are fully licensed by the City of Austin. Rates vary – be sure to ask your driver about the price per rider or per trip before hopping in.
Capital Metro will be offering the usual Night Owl and E-Bus service until 3am everyday except Sundays (or in night owl terms, Monday mornings) during SXSW. There are five late-night routes to choose from that will pick you up at 6th street between Congress and Colorado and take you pretty much anywhere throughout the city. You can buy Capital Metro passes on-the-go during SXSW via the FREE CapMetro app. During SXSW, select “special offers” in the app to buy multi-day passes, good for unlimited bus and train rides.
B-cycle, Austin’s bike-share system, is another fast, easy way to get around during SXSW, day or night. These bike share stations are conveniently placed throughout the downtown area near all the places you want to be. Day access passes are available at each B-station; all you need is a credit card!
The SXSW Festival Shuttle is the free circulating shuttle that runs between the Austin Convention Center and most SXSW Music, Film, and Interactive Festival Venues. Shuttles will leave the Austin Convention Center approximately every 7 – 10 minutes during conference hours, but run into the wee hours of the morning. Track the shuttles in real time on the SXSW GO app or at shuttles.sxsw.com.
