Travis Country is located in Southwest Austin with Texas Hill Country as its backdrop. Originally developed in the 1970’s, it has grown in popularity over the years. Buyers can find both new and older homes in the area, as well as condos and garden homes. Located north of the Southwest Parkway and west of MoPac, the community is surrounded by protected natural greenbelt areas all around it because it was built over the Edwards Aquifer.
It features two amenity areas, swimming center, playgrounds, lighted tennis courts and basketball courts, picnic tables and grills, and the 1.5 mile Sycamore Creek Nature Trail. A unique feature of the Blue Valley Amenity area is the fully-stocked fresh water pond. It’s also home to a variety of plants and wildlife, including ducks, turtles, fish and even and occasional great blue heron.
Children attend highly-acclaimed schools in the Austin Independent School District, including Oak Hill Elementary, O’Henry Middle, Small Middle, and Austin High.
