Austin Real Estate Market Report
The summer ended on a strong note for Central Texas, with annual gains in both single-family home sales and prices, according to the latest Central Texas Housing Market Report released by the Austin Board of REALTORS®. Based on the report, single-family home sales rose 5.3 percent year-over year to 2,985 home sales while median home price increased 9.4 percent year-over-year to $289,990.
Housing inventory across the five-county area continued to be constricted and sell quickly this past month, with monthly housing inventory increasing 0.1 months since August 2015 to 2.8 months and average days on market remaining statistically unchanged from last year at 42 days.
